The Wimbledon 2009 sweepstake has been designed to give you a bit of extra fun during the tournament by allowing you to choose the players in the Mens draw you think have the best chance of progressing the furthest.
Prizes
First prize is guaranteed to be at least £35
Second prize of £10 and third prize of £5.
These prizes may optionally be increased to a maximum of 50% of the total proceeds at the discretion of the committee.
Rules
One selection from each pool of 4 players is allowed
A bonus player must be selected from the players outside of the top 16. This players points will be multiplied by 1.5. (A list of the top 50 players is attached for those that might just want to have a lucky dip!)
Entry fee of £5 per player is required
If a chosen player withdraws before the start of the tournament you may nominate a replacement from the same section of players. Please do this by nominating a reserve choice for each category.
The combined points scored between your five selections determines your position in the sweep.
Win a game 1 Point
Win a match 10 points
Win in straight sets 10 points
Beat a higher ranked player 10 points
(NB: Higher ranked means in terms of the sweepstake ratings NOT seeding, ATP ranking etc)
Progression
Reach Last 16 10 points
Reach QF 20 points
Reach SF 30 points
Reach Final 40 points
Win tournament 50 points
Player rankings are taken from the ATP entry system 16th April 2009.
